We at Let’s Open a Book believe that reading can bring about a huge transformation in a child’s mindset. With younger children, it can help shape up their thoughts and belief systems. This impact further intensifies when you can help develop reading habits within children who have limited access to quality children literature. We are trying to address this need by taking books to reach those children who are unreached.
Our library program consists of setting up libraries in government primary schools. These low-cost libraries are run by the kids from these schools. We currently support 15 libraries, spread over Delhi-NCR, Spiti Valley and Udaipur.
We are looking to connect with people who are passionate about libraries in general and would like to support us in setting up library spaces. Our model mainly works with help of volunteers, so anyone with any skill to contribute would be of huge help. Storytellers/ teachers/ trainers/ people who can conduct activities for kids/ photographers/ videographers/ social media folks/ designers/ website developers are all welcome to join our team.
