Description:

About

Aaghaaz-e-Taleem is an unconventional community school which began in November 2017 by the students of the Jamia Millia Islamia University for improving education standards amongst the poor and underprivileged kids. We are teaching 15 underprivileged kids who don't even have access to proper school education and provide 60 days basic education to ensure overall development of mental and physical capacities of these young dreamers.

Project Model

The aim is to provide 60 days of basic education to children of Shram Vihar community, who have never been to school, in 6 subjects, namely Science, Maths, English, Computer Education, Creative Arts and Sports. Each kid will be allotted 2 educators, who will be shortlisted after a strict interview. Both the educators have to divide the six subjects among themselves, each educator imparting education in 3 subjects to the child.

The educator will be given a period of 90 days ( 3 months ), during which he or she needs to provide 60 days of basic education to the child, serving as a preschool training program and preparing a solid base for their school education. At the end of those 90 days period, the child will be enrolled in a  nearby Private/Government School.

Project Expenses

  1. Transportation costs to the community
  2. Books and Stationary items.
  3. Cloths and shoes for 15 kids
  4. Mid-day meal for 60 days.
  5. Laptops for 15 kids.
  6. Scientific and practical equipment.

Exit Plan

The educator will continue to pay weekly visits to the child for next 3 months, in case he or she needs help in the subjects being taught at school, as well as to ensure that the kid doesn't drop out from the school.
