International Journal of Computational Fluid Dynamics

International Journal of Computational Fluid Dynamics
International Journal of Computational Fluid Dynamics
2017 Impact Factor: 0.961 ©2018 Clarivate Analytics, 2018 Journal Citation Reports®

The International Journal of Computational Fluid Dynamics publishes innovative CFD research, both fundamental and applied, with applications in a wide variety of fields.

The Journal emphasizes accurate predictive tools for 3D flow analysis and design, and those promoting a deeper understanding of the physics of 3D fluid motion. Relevant and innovative practical and industrial 3D applications, as well as those of an interdisciplinary nature, are encouraged.

Papers based on commercial or open source codes
Papers based on commercial or open source CFD codes are subject to the same scientific scrutiny and, because of their nature, must clearly highlight the authors' CFD algorithmic or modeling contributions. Papers should present applications of interest to the readers of IJCFD, not simply to the users of specific commercial or open source CFD codes.

Peer review
All published articles undergo rigorous double-blind peer review, based on initial Editor-in-Chief screening and anonymous refereeing by independent international expert referees. All peer review is double-blind and submission is online via ScholarOne Manuscripts.

Guidance to authors
Authors are encouraged to as much as possible address the following points in their paper:
  • The order of accuracy of the numerical method
  • The method’s verification against closed-form, manufactured or acknowledged highly-accurate numerical solutions
  • The method’s validation against reliable experimental results, or at the least other numerical solutions (in this case clearly explaining the advantages of the new method)
  • The level of grid dependence of results, and space discretization errors
  • The level of convergence in time, and time discretization errors
  • The method’s iterative convergence for the cases presented

Short Communications
  • The IJCFD also publishes Short Communications that represent significant incremental changes or advances to an existing CFD methodology, that merit fast publication in the permanent literature
  • Such artricles will be placed at the back of the Journal and are limited to 3000 words, i.e. to one-third the size of a regualr article
  • Short Communications receive the same scrutiny as full articles and authors are reminded of the IJCFD stance in the use of Commercial Codes
