Theatre, Dance and Performance Training

Theatre, Dance and Performance Training
Theatre, Dance and Performance Training

Theatre, Dance and Performance Training (TDPT) is a rigorously peer-reviewed journal that acts as a research forum for practitioners, academics, creative artists and pedagogues interested in training in all its complexity. Papers are reviewed 'single-blind', by a minimum of two reviewers, who are recognised experts in the field.  Feedback on papers is always provided and the editors work closely with authors in the development of papers, post-peer review.

The journal prides itself on revealing the vital and diverse processes of training and their relationship to performance making, including those from the past, from the present, and into the future. This diversity is reflected in the journal's international scope and interdisciplinary form and focus.

In its Sources section TDPT provides an outlet for the documentation and analysis of primary materials of performer training, whilst the Articles section allows for discursive contributions in a range of critical and creative formats, including visual essays. Training Grounds hosts shorter pieces, which are not peer reviewed.

Training Grounds offers a space for the transmission of those ideas which are brief, still in a process of becoming, still 'in training', as well as those which are big, loud and passionate. We encourage contributions from makers, practitioners, scholars, and students at all stages of training and development.

TDPT provides an invaluable meeting-point for practitioner-researchers wanting to know more about training before, beneath, beyond and within performance.

Some key areas of interest, which authors are encouraged to reference in submitting 250 word abstracts to the editors, include:

·         Training purposes: why train, who trains and what is trained?
·         Training histories: the currency of historic training approaches in the C21st
