The image of teaching projected in the media has always suffered from polarized division: on the one hand, teachers appear as selfless heroes, and on the other, teachers are society’s failures, whose ambition and desires introduce moral contagion to our places of formal learning. This book explores these contradictory images of teaching through the relational concept of transference.
