Queer European Cinema

This book provides an overview of LGBTQ representation and trends throughout cinematic history. It examines specific films from the spectrum of ‘low culture’ to ‘high culture’ to demonstrate how LGBTQ film can serve as a political tool to create visibility and acceptance. It was originally published as a special issue of Studies in European Cinema.
