Randomization, Masking, and Allocation Concealment

This book deals with randomization in clinical trials. Currently trials use permuted blocks randomization almost exclusively. Many researchers are aware of the drawbacks to this fatally flawed method, and while many are unaware of any better randomization methods, in fact several groups have proposed improvements, and also demonstrated the benefits of these improvements to permuted blocks randomization. This book will be important as it will document much of this work, so it should be useful to students in biostatistics, public health, and epidemiology, as well as to medical and clinical trial researchers and reviewers. No particular background is assumed.
