Handbook of Optofluidics

Optofluidics involves the use of fluids to modify optical properties and the use of optical devices to detect flowing media, and is highly dependent on the successful integration of photonic integrated circuits with microfluidic or nanofluidic systems. This handbook provides detailed coverage of this emerging field with chapters divided into three main sections. The first part defines a set of foundational principles for the field, the second discusses novel devices with optical properties manipulated by fluids, and the third covers state-of-the-art methods for particle detection and manipulation primarily being developed for biosensing and biomedical applications.
