Theory of Gearing

This book systematically develops a scientific theory of gearing for engineers and researchers involved in gear design, analysis, and manufacture. The theory is based on a simple postulate: all the design parameters for an optimal gear pair for a particular application can be derived from (a) the rotation vectors of the driving shaft and driven shaft and (b) the torque on the driving shaft. Written by a gearing expert who holds more than 200 patents, this book offers an analytical solution to the problem of designing gear pairs with the desired performance.
