Viotti and the Chinnerys

Drawing on a wealth of correspondence, this book examines the relationship between the great Italian violinist and composer Giovanni Battista Viotti (1755-1824) and the Chinnery Family with whom he became deeply involved. Following his meeting with Margaret and William Chinnery in 1793, Viotti moved into their home and became a second father to their children, forming a remarkably successful menage a trois.
