This book seeks to understand the contradictions that emanate from, on the one hand, the institutionalization of human rights among imperial nation-states and global governmental bodies and, on the other, the growing embrace of human rights logics and languages by women and men who are struggling for justice across the world._x005F_x000D_ This book was published as a special issue of the International Feminist Journal of Politics.
